Add GST and Remove GST
In Add GST mode, the GST amount is calculated from the entered base price and added to it. In Remove GST mode, the entered amount is treated as GST-inclusive and the calculator works backward to find the base price and GST portion.

Which GST rates can I use?

How does Remove GST calculate the base price?
The GST-inclusive price is divided by one plus the GST rate expressed as a decimal. The GST amount is then the difference between the inclusive price and base price.
Does this calculator determine which GST rate applies?
No. It performs mathematical calculations using the rate you enter or select; it does not determine the rate applicable to a product or jurisdiction.
